Kim is hoping the winning form of Corey Brown continues on Thursday at Gosford when he partners Rock and Roll in the 1600m benchmark 60. She's 3rd up and ready to Rock and Roll, said Kim with a giggle!

Lucarno led and almost pinched the race when he was run down in the shadows of the post to finish 2nd today at Canterbury in the 1600m benchmark 70 for Apprentices Only. With stable apprentice Serg in the saddle the son of Noverre led for home but drifted out under pressure which saw the winner take full advantage of an inside run and defeat Lucarno by a half length. Good honest run and it was only in the last 100m he was headed, said Kim.
20-02-12
I Like the Boy continued the exciting winning run of famous Black Caviar owner Neil Werrett and at the same time made the connections, including Channel Nine TV personality Karl Stefanovic, extremely happy when he broke through to win the maiden mile at Wyong on Sunday. So happy for all the owners and it was great to get a win on the board for Neil and Karl, said Kim. Both are new owners in my stable and it was a relief to get that first winner out of the way! Corey said the penny has still not dropped with the horse and race experience will naturally help him develop and become more professional. I'll give him a couple more runs then we'll tip him out for a break.
Misaquilina produced an honest effort when 3rd in the C1 over 1350m with Kim saying she might bring the filly back in distance next start. She had an easy lead early but Hugh on the horse outside the leader really piled the pressure on just passing the 600m, said Kim. She's very speedy so I think we'll stick to the shorter sprint journey's.
On debut for the stable Censor copped a check at the start then settled close to last before making strong ground late - finishing 9th but only beaten 3.6 lengths.

Misaquilina looks very well placed in the C1 over 1350m at Wyong, Kim's home track, on Sunday. The daughter of Alert scored a dominant four length win when resuming on Australia Day and due to the wet weather missed a run at the abandoned Newcastle metro meeting last Wednesday. Yes she comes in exceptionally well after the claim of Serg and from barrier 3 she’ll enjoy a lovely run on top of the speed, said Kim.
I Like the Boy should appreciate the step up to the mile when he competes in race 2 on the card with Corey Brown taking over from stable apprentice Serg Lisnyy whilst hopefully with some dry weather around this weekend Censor will line up for his first start for the stable in the benchmark 75 over 1200m. Fingers crossed the rain stays away and we race on a dead track, said Kim. Both I Like the Boy and Censor appear much better on top of the ground.

After such a promising return to the track on Saturday at Rosehill, Kims world was shattered when her talented mare Kimillsy was found to be lame. Unfortunately it looks like the end of her racing career, said Kim. At the moment the vets are trying to salvage her stud career. It looks like she has shattered the sesamoid and they have operated to screw everything back to together. It will naturally be a long recovery process but as long as she gets better then we can plan for her career of being a mother.

The much anticipated return to the racetrack for Kimillsy was well worth the wait for Kim and her patient connections when she worked to the line strongly to finish 3rd in the benchmark 85 over 1100m at Rosehill on Saturday. Over the moon, said Kim. She has pulled up great and now we can step her up in class to some nice fillies and mares black type races. There is virtually one on every week so we have plenty to choose from.
12-02-12
Unfortunately the rain fell at Newcastle on Saturday and the track was downgraded to a slow 6 which wasn't exactly what Kim was looking for with I Like the Boy. He finished 6th but I'm just desperate to see him get back on a good track, said Kim.
09-02-12
Rock and Roll was forced to go back to a clear last after drawing wide at Gosford on Thursday yet still finished strongly to run 4th. Top effort, said Kim. We told Serg to ride her quiet from the wide alley but when he couldn't get in anywhere he was forced to go right back to last. He then commenced to track into the race before the home turn but the horse he was following was taking him no where so he had to ease to the extreme outside round the bend and once balanced on straightening she worked home really strong. I'll find a similar race in a couple of weeks time, hopefully with a better barrier draw!

Lucarno was scratched from Kembla Grange races on Wednesday.

Kim has purchased a strong looking Mossman Colt for $50,000 at the Classic Sales. The Classic Sale has proven time and time again to be a great place to buy an affordable well-bred yearling and this year is no exception, said Kim. This colt had deadset 2yo written all over him. He was the first horse I looked at and in between the many others I inspected I just kept going back to him!
The handsome chestnut (pictured below) is by MOSSMAN out of the Flying Spur mare SNOHALO.
